Abusia Backtrack is our love letter to the culture that raised us. It’s a preservation project, an educational journey, and a tribute to the Black, brown, queer, and working-class communities that turned sound into salvation.

WHY THIS SERIES MATTERS

This isn’t nostalgia. It’s archaeology. It’s cultural reclamation.

House music isn’t just music—it’s a movement. One forged in Chicago lofts, Newark lounges, Detroit basements, and Brooklyn block parties. It’s the sound of resistance wrapped in rhythm. It’s gospel, soul, funk, and disco remixed into joy. It is healing through repetition. It’s community through vibration.

But too much of its history has been told through the wrong lens—or not told at all.
