The Story Behind Bang Da Damn Drums
In 2024, Brooklyn-based DJ JenJen launched Bang Da Damn Drums on Twitch to amplify Afro-centric, drum-driven music and create an online space where DJs and dancers worldwide could unite.
The result? A fast-growing global community moving to the infectious pulse of Afrobeats, Amapiano, Afro House, and House music.
Now, the energy leaps from screen to street with this first-ever Brooklyn live event, sponsored in part by Abusia Radio—home of music for your soul.
About DJ JenJen
Born and raised in Brooklyn to a Guyanese family, DJ JenJen has always moved to the rhythm of the drum. Growing up dancing to Soca and Caribbean beats, her deep connection to rhythm evolved into a dynamic DJ career spanning NYC’s top events and a loyal 3K+ following on Twitch.
A two-time nominee for Best Afrobeats/World Music DJ of the Year, she infuses every set with global soul and unstoppable energy.
In 2025, DJ JenJen also performed in Abusia Radio’s ROYALS 2025—our acclaimed Women’s History Month celebration spotlighting powerful women shaping the future of house and dance music.
Now, she brings Bang Da Damn Drums to life with a lineup of celebrated DJs and live percussion, making this one of Brooklyn’s most anticipated dance events of the summer.
